The North West Regional Water Authority was established on the “appointed
day” in accordance with North West Regional Water Act 1976 which
received Royal Assent in December 1976.

Legislation to wind up the North West Regional Water Authority as a GBE,
and transfer its assets to the participating Councils received Royal Assent

August 1999
The new entity, the North West Water Authority, a Joint Authority under
the Local Government Act was proclaimed.

July 2000
Cradle Coast Water trading name adopted.

December 2001
The legal entity “North West Water Authority” changed to “Cradle
